We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chemistry Lecturer to join our academic team on a temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support students in their studies of Chemistry, helping them develop their scientific knowledge and skills in preparation for further education or future careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Lesson Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons to students at various levels, ensuring the content is accessible and challenging.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Develop and implement assessments to monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Student Support: Offer additional support to students, addressing individual learning needs and helping them overcome any academic challenges.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Chemistry curriculum and teaching resources.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track student progress and performance, ensuring timely interventions to support students' success in their studies.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A teaching qualification (ideally at Level 5 or equivalent).
  • A degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Proven experience in teaching Chemistry in a Further Education or equivalent educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Chemistry curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
