Staff Power is recruiting on behalf of our client near Pickering for a Production Controller to manage production planning and ensure the smooth progression of works orders through their life cycle. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and play a key role in the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Release job cards into production according to agreed schedules.
- Manage changes to Work In Progress (WIP) from engineering revisions, ensuring correct processes and embodiments are followed.
- Facilitate the smooth movement of products through production and stores departments.
- Review shortages and expedite priority materials and activities to meet production requirements.
- Assist with progress reporting on production.
- Direct communication with project managers for dedicated projects.
- Manage small projects or technical sales orders with support from the project team.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements as part of the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proven competency in Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to build strong relationships within the team.
- A keen understanding of time-critical responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUPs are advantageous).
- Understanding of production processes (experience within an engineering business preferred).
- Previous experience in MRP/Materials Requirements Planning.
