My client are a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK. As part of their continued growth and involvement in the HS2 project, they are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, working on reinforced concrete (RC), earthworks, and heavy civils.

As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of HS2 works, providing technical support, overseeing site activities, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and health & safety standards. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and site teams to drive quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Set out, level, and survey the site in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with design and safety standards.
  • Oversee quality control and the implementation of quality assurance procedures.
  • Liaise with the site management team to ensure works progress efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Supervise subcontractors and direct labour as required.
  • Conduct site inspections and report on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and permits.
  • Work closely with design teams and resolve technical queries on-site.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including as-built drawings and daily reports.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, earthworks, and heavy civils.
  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in setting out and surveying techniques using GPS, total stations, and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • CSCS card
