Solutions Architect Designer

Our Client, a Telecoms company, is looking to recruit a seasoned professional who has at least 5 to 10 years of experience as a Solutions Architect Designer.

You will be involved in developing and implementing systems architecture designs that will meet business needs.

The Solution Designer’s responsibilities include:

1. Designing innovative solutions based on business requirements.
2. Creating functional specifications.
3. Assessing the current software systems in place to identify areas in need of improvement.
4. Overseeing development teams.
5. Participating and leading on projects requiring an in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
6. Designing technology solutions by modeling requirements and applying standard application methodology best practices.
7. Resolving technical problems as they arise.
8. Researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.
9. Building and integrating information systems to meet the company’s needs.
10. Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with the Enterprise Architect to recommend solutions for improvement.
11. Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
12. Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.
13. Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes.
14. Managing stakeholder expectations regarding appropriate milestones and deadlines.
15. Providing supervision and guidance to development teams.
16. Ensuring IT Security standards are incorporated by design, ensuring compliance with required standards (ISO27001) and supporting improvement initiatives to protect the business from risks arising from data loss.
17. Supporting and contributing actively to health and safety, environmental, business continuity, and information security arrangements that meet our obligations to our customers.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Proven experience in engineering and software solution design.
2. In-depth understanding of integration techniques & modern coding languages.
3. Integration knowledge (SOAP, REST APIs, Middleware BizTalk).
4. Data Warehouse design & optimization.
5. ITIL/Remedy experience.
6. Experience using Enterprise Architecture tools.
7. Hons Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Engineering.
8. Knowledge of Cloud architectures.

The Client is located close to Reading, so ideally you will be living within 60 minutes commuting distance. You will be working from home remotely for 2 to 3 days a week and/or working from the office 2 days a week.

The salary for this role will be in the range of £75K – £90K plus benefits.
