The shift to on-demand entertainment has fundamentally changed the way we live, relax, and socialize. In the same way, the shift to business data on-demand will change the way banks do business and the way the world interacts with financial services. Codat is building the business data streaming service that will become the default means of collecting business information. Our clients will be able to seamlessly derive useful, up-to-date insight from their customers whenever they need it, helping them build deeper, more meaningful relationships with customers.

The role

We believe AI will transform the way our users interact with data: with more flexible, powerful insight delivered through entirely new experiences. We are looking for a Principal ML Engineer to join us as our first generative AI hire and technical leader in this space. You will be responsible for establishing our nascent generative AI models in partnership with our Product team and data scientists. You will lead the development of our new vertical LLM products and capabilities, leveraging our existing deep dataset, expertise, ML, and client base.

Over the last 8 years, we have built a suite of sophisticated industry-leading deterministic ML models. The existing team is a blended mix of data science, ML Ops, and data engineering.

What you’ll bring to the team

• Extensive machine learning engineering experience
• LLM experience – tuning foundational models, or building from the ground up
• Experience working as a data scientist and familiarity with the lifecycle of work and technology stack
• Experience working with a product team
• Experience leading on AI strategy
• Passion for mentoring
• Action-oriented, open-minded, and a strong desire for ownership
• Start-up mindset – as a start-up, it’s important that this person wants to help us deliver at pace and has the attitude to get things done
