We are looking for a Compliance Specialist to support our Group and Defined Benefit (DB) teams.
In this role, you will provide support to the Head of Compliance Group and DB and will make a significant contribution to the effectiveness of the Compliance function through the provision of comprehensive support and ongoing analysis of regulatory risk, including but not limited to conflicts of interest, Senior Managers and Certification Regime, and Solvency UK documentation compliance, as well as supporting on regulatory reporting and notifications.
Working within the Groupβs regulatory risk appetite defined by relevant Boards, you will work proactively with first line colleagues across the Group to promote best practice with the aim of reducing regulatory risk.
As the Compliance Specialist, you will also contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust Consumer Duty culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and timely regulatory oversight and challenge to the Group’s systems and controls regarding compliance with regulatory requirements, including conflicts of interest, Senior Managers and Certification Regime, and Solvency UK documentation.
- Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of data for inclusion in regulatory reports and notifications, including ad-hoc requests for information.
- Provide broad regulatory and compliance support and expertise to projects and/or regulatory change programmes, partnering with colleagues across the Group to ensure compliance without increasing exposure to unacceptable regulatory risks.
- Assist the business in achieving its objectives while ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
- Provide consultancy support and technical expertise on key FCA and PRA regulatory areas of focus, including conduct, Consumer Duty, and Solvency UK.
- Ongoing collaboration with colleagues across other first and second line Group functions to facilitate appropriate and timely support.
Skills & Experience
- Regulatory Compliance experience in a financial services company is essential.
- Proven record of accomplishment in financial services compliance, preferably in the life insurance firm sector, providing regulatory assurance and advisory support.
- Good understanding of the regulatory framework operating within the UK.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Solution-oriented with strong influencing skills and confidence in providing advice and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Customer-focused with the ability to apply a Consumer Duty lens to the communication and implementation of regulatory intelligence and a strong understanding of all Just products and distribution channels.
- Excellent organization and project management skills, able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, with an analytical mindset.
- Strong report writing skills, tailored to the required audience ensuring both accuracy and clarity.
- Objective, timely, and confident decision-making skills with a good understanding of Group strategy and direction.
- IT literate, including in the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
