About the Role
We are seeking a Verification & Validation Engineer to join our team, working on industry-leading machinery for the construction and agricultural sectors. This role is open to candidates from Engineer to Senior Engineer level and offers an opportunity to contribute to the full test, verification, and validation lifecycle of complex electromechanical systems. The role could suit an experienced test engineer with a broad range of skills and understanding of whole product / vehicle level tests.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop test, verification, and validation strategies to ensure high-quality machine performance.
- Write test specifications and create test plans to validate vehicle systems.
- Execute test and validation activities, including hands-on testing and troubleshooting.
- Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving to improve product reliability.
- Be on location to assess vehicles in real-world conditions and support field testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, software, and manufacturing engineers.
Key Requirements
- A degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in electrical / electronic verification and validation, testing, or product development within a relevant industry (machinery, automotive, aerospace, etc).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to create test specifications and test plans to validate vehicle systems.
- Experience working with electrical and electronic systems in off-highway, automotive, or heavy machinery is desirable.
- Practical engineering aptitude – hands-on with test, problem solving and fault finding.
- An appreciation of systems engineering, systems integration or systems test (understanding of the wider product and not just focused on component / board level work).
- Good whole vehicle / machine systems test engineering appreciation (mechanical, electrical, electronic etc).
Others (beneficial):
- Knowledge of safety critical control systems – e.g. autonomous systems, ADAS, electric vehicle / hybrid powertrain systems could be an advantage.
- An appreciation of software engineering and electronics development or hydraulic control may also prove useful.
The role would be based onsite in Rocester, Staffordshire (not remote) and is commutable from Stoke on Trent, Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Stafford and Burton.
