Position: Territory Sales Manager within M25
Location: London, Greater London
Reports to: Director
This Life Science company is looking for a Territory Manager covering the London and the Greater London area (within the M25 corridor). Candidates should have 2+ years experience selling scientific products, however graduates with customer service/sales experience will be considered.
Key job function
- To promote and sell the entire company’s product range, increasing revenue and profitability for the company through effective sales activities.
- Your efforts will be focused on developing new and growing existing accounts within the Biobanking, Hospital & University Research departments, CRO Biotech & Drug Discovery markets, as well as identifying new markets.
- The objective of this position is to grow and manage the business in the territory, to capitalise on the market or new market opportunities and to meet your sales target.
Primary responsibilities
- Role is 100% sales focused via face-to-face meetings and on-site demonstrations when permitted.
- Identifying, qualifying and developing new sales opportunities and relationships with potential customers (about 80% of the job) to generate sales to meet or exceed goals.
- The development and ownership of customer accounts and customers within your territory.
- Maintain contact and follow up with customer accounts to ensure that their needs are understood and meet.
- Monitor targets and forecast sales within the territory and manage any gaps against target and expected performance.
- Accurately update your sales pipeline and the Dynamics CRM as and when necessary.
- Initiate and provide insight into market developments.
- Confident to cold call potential customers, follow up leads, and eMarketing campaigns.
- When required confidently organise remote online meetings to introduce the company and generate sales leads.
- When required organise remote online meetings and demonstrations to move the sales call and follow up to closure of sale maximising the sale as best possible.
- Organising mini exhibitions of products at customer sites when permitted; follow up leads and ensure that comprehensive information and support is provided to customers.
- Understanding customer requirements and present appropriate the company solutions.
- Be aware of industry trends and be able to act as a source of information into and out of the company for customers; generating a role as a point of contact that adds value.
- Feedback customer requirements and make recommendations on strategies that enable the company to improve sales and customer marketing.

Person Specification
The person will conduct himself/herself in a professional manner and will represent the company in the best possible way at all times during customer contact.
The following are essential:
- Education to Degree level or higher in a Life Sciences subject (Molecular Biology or a related subject).
- Practical laboratory experience, ideally with life science consumables knowledge.
- Be prepared to travel 4 days a week across your territory.
- Ability to work and carry out professional video calls and demonstrations.
- Able to stay away overnight for the occasional sales meetings or national trade shows.
- Evidence of being an enthusiastic self-starter who is results orientated.
- Self-motivated, passionate and tenacious in character.
- Highly organised & have good presentation skills; to present during technical demonstrations and sales calls.
- A career-minded, resilient person who learns quickly.
- Happy to cold-call and develop business with brand new customer accounts. Good listening and communication skills.
- Demonstration of the ability to work as part of a team.
- High level of negotiation skills.
- Motivation to achieve individual sales targets.
- Display a sense of integrity and respect for others.
- Manage and look after demo equipment and samples for sales calls.

- Experience in consumable sales activities within a Life Science field, with a track record of sales success.
- Knowledge of customers and accounts in the territory.
