Our client is a leading mechanical and electrical services provider, delivering expert solutions in commercial gas and heating, hot water supply, HVAC, and planned/reactive maintenance. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team.

Role Overview

This role involves carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on commercial gas systems across sites within the M25, with occasional travel to Sussex to support an NHS project. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in mental health units and other healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair commercial gas appliances, heating systems, and hot water systems.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out reactive and planned maintenance across a variety of commercial premises, including NHS sites & schools.
  • Install and commission new boilers, pipework, and associated gas systems when required.
  • Conduct gas safety checks and ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, Gas Safe standards, and company policies.
  • Provide technical support and advice to clients and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records, including service reports, job sheets, and compliance documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure efficient service delivery.

Requirements

  • Commercial Gas Qualifications (CODNCO1, CIGA1, COCN1, ICPN1, TPCP1, etc.) (essential).
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer in the building services or HVAC industry.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial heating systems, boilers, and plant rooms.
  • Experience working in healthcare environments (preferred but not essential).
  • A valid UK driving licence is required.
  • Enhanced DBS is beneficial.
  • Comfortable working in mental health units as part of NHS.

Whats on Offer

  • Salary up to £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
  • 28 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays) increases by 1 day per year of service, up to 25 years.
  • Company vehicle provided.
  • Phone bill covered (up to £50 per month).
  • Standard working hours 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, but typically finish around 4:00 pm, depending on job completion.
