We are currently recruiting for a time served plater to work within the fabrication team for a large customer based in the South Tyneside area.
The Role:
- Carry out plating operations following work instructions
- Read and understand drawings to ensure that steel is cut to specification
- Accurately assemble and ensure that plating is carried out to specification
- Cut and prepare plates/sections
- Tack welding and other welds when necessary
- Assemble fabrication work to pass to welders for final assembly
The Person:
- Candidates must be time served through a recognised training programme, such as time served apprenticeship
- Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings
- Experience with using fabrication equipment
