As the Engineering Manager, you will be mandated to build and run a large and complex Engineering domain. Working closely with our Product Managers & Product Owners, you will enable more frequent and faster deployments, improve software quality, reduce change failure rate, and improve the mean time to recover in the event of an issue. You will create new products and deliver continuous value by delivering the product roadmap.

What You’ll Do: We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:
- Promote Primark WoW and standards across engineering teams.
- Oversight of design and delivery (development, testing, and release/deploy) of engineering solutions for backlog items.
- Oversight of production release (Go live) including AIS.
- Experience in implementing engineering best practices for website and mobile apps (iOS and Android) enabling faster deployments, improving software quality, and delivering value.
- Define and govern software quality standards, service transition rigor, and compliance to security to improve software delivery and operational performance measured through metrics such as MTTR, Change Failure Rate %, Deployment lead time, and technical debt.
- Overseeing Engineering Demand management & Capacity management and being the overall Engineering Development escalation point for Product and Delivery.
- 3rd party management, understanding contracts, commercials, performance management, metrics, and driving to meet and exceed expectations.
- Ensuring compliance of engineering teams and ensuring timely audit responses to known issues.
- Defining the Product Domain minimum viable ‘Definition Of Ready’ and ‘Definition Of Done’ with each team.
- Ensuring that Operational demand (defects, Tech Debt, risk/audit) is correctly represented in the Product Backlog in conjunction with Product Owners and Managers.
- Working with the team and peers to develop shared, ambitious OKRs aligned to the strategy and holding ourselves accountable to these.
- Ensuring a culture of Stability, Security, Data Protection, and accessibility is built into all processes, procedures & products.

- 5+ years experience in Software engineering delivery or IT Transformation Delivery at an enterprise level, particularly in an agile at-scale environment.
- Experience in owning and managing senior business stakeholder relationships.
- An appropriate degree, equivalent qualification, or experience scale - across people, process, and technology domains, and a range of associated delivery frameworks, including agile.
- Influencer: significant ability to grow, inspire, engage and coach a diverse team and create an inclusive culture across geographical boundaries.
- Collaborative partner: develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders in Technology and across the wider Primark business.
- People leadership: A people leader who role models through their own behaviour and actions, embedding change by inspiring, coaching, holding themselves and others to account, and setting the right inclusive culture for team and partners.
- Knowledge of technical product development principles and methodologies.
