We are looking for a Maritime Data Specialist to provide editorial supervision over our datasets, to ensure data accuracy, resilience, consistency, and timeliness. What will you do?
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in ship ownership and shipping company data
- Track changes in ownership, addresses, and registrations, including changes occurring as a result of new Sanctions, and ensure records are updated in a timely manner
- Track and maintain high quality data across our datasets, and implement processes to ensure data quality improvement where needed
- Assist customer support team with complex Ownership queries and investigations
- Provide guidelines and training to members of our remote Editorial Team on data collection processes, and data investigations
- Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, Product, Support) and provide them with maritime data expertise
- Prospect for new data sources according to Product needs, and help manage and expand existing vendors relations
Who are you?
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Data analysis, or any other related field; 5-10 years of experience in maritime data management - a must
- In-depth knowledge of the global shipping industry, including ownership structures and maritime regulations
- Ability to work with external data sources and streamline data from various inputs
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data management tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel) and quality assurance processes
- Experience in data selling and/or data acquisition processes (e.g. data catalogues, data samples, API requirement etc)
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, involving sensitive data needing immediate attention
