Network Engineer required for leading Financial Services organisation to work 100% remote with on call. This is an initial 6 months inside IR35 contract role with a strong possibility of moving to permanent.
Skills Required
- Understand and manage Internal BGP and OSPF routing
- Understand and manage L2 VRF/Vlan/STP and Mlag, Port-Channel concept
- Have experience with network monitoring tools and network alerts e.g Observium / Icinga / Nagios
- Palo Alto - have experience with firewall, IDS/IPS
- Arista - Managing Arista Switches
- Python - Scripting for network monitoring and automation
- Ansible - Network provisioning and automation
- SONiC management and deployment
- AWS - basic cloud networking knowledge
- Certification in AWS or Cisco or Arista or PaloAlto is highly desirable
- Have a relevant background in financial services - Investment banking/trading
Responsibilities
- The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of the in-house unicast and multicast network environment.
- The role will involve: Planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organisation.
- Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimisation of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
- Analyse and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and handle security and Firewall requests.
