POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Senior Director – Operations, the Director of Technical Services provides assistance to the Mushkegowuk Council First Nations in the planning, implementation, and supervision of their capital programs (including buildings, water supply, sewage disposal, roads, bridges, power distribution, and housing units); initiates planning feasibility studies; provides assistance in the development, implementation, and monitoring of maintenance systems; identifies funding requirements and sources thereof; organizes and conducts training programs; and provides other engineering services as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-Secondary Education in the Engineering field and/or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • Three (3) years of project and/or program management experience in the public/private/first nation sector
  • Experience in departmental management, budget and financial management, and administration.
  • Knowledge of engineering theory and practice related to the planning, designing, construction, operation, and maintenance of a wide range of municipal type facilities (roads, buildings, water, etc.)
  • Excellent proven communication, organizational, analytical, and supervisory skills
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Cree cultural and history of the Mushkegowuk people
  • Self-starter, ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Fluency in the Cree language would be an asset
  • Ability and willingness to travel including a Valid Driver’s license
