DP World are currently recruiting for a Facilities Officer to join our prestigious Regional Head Office based in Palace Street, London. In this role you will coordinate the necessary facilities services required for the effective running of the office overseeing contractors and ensuring adherence with relevant legislation.

About the role:

  • Responsibility for ensuring that all necessary Health & Safety risk assessments are kept up to date with the latest regulations and reviewed as required. These include Fire Safety, VDU/DSE, First Aid, Fire Warden, Expectant Mothers, Work Experience & Evacuation procedures.
  • Assist with the Health and Safety induction of new employees to Palace Street and provide continuous Health & Safety legislative advice to Palace Street Managers for dissemination to staff.
  • Carry out all ‘hands on’ health and safety procedures according to legislation, including VDU and manual handling, expectant mothers, work experience and all risk assessments for DP World.
  • Managing the collection of secure waste and recycling by the external contractor.
  • Arrange for the disposal of used products and materials in an environmentally sensitive manner in line with WEEE regulations.
  • Carry out in-house troubleshooting on all of our office equipment, AV and appliances as a way to reduce repair times and call-out costs.
  • Support the Manager with all office changes and projects, including the planning, schedule of works, and all of the tasks carried out in-house as required.
  • Ensure all pro-active and re-active maintenance is carried out expediently.
  • Day-to-day supervision of the cleaning contract and staff.
  • Maintain all fire and emergency equipment including the evacuation chair to comply with current legislation.
  • Control of outgoing post and ensure that Palace Street staff are aware of last post collection, so their external correspondence is sent appropriately.
  • Ensure stationery stock is readily available for staff at the various stationery cupboards and replenish where necessary.
  • Assist with the relationship with lunch providers for staff at Palace Street and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Out of hour call out responsibilities when the Office Manager is on leave, such as building power failure, communications room, critical equipment supports etc.

Your Key Skills:

  • Previous experience of coordinating facilities/maintenance services within a corporate business/office environment.
  • Highly motivated, ability to respond to and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Qualifications such as IOSH/NEBOSH and or BIFM/WIFM would be beneficial (not essential).
  • Strong personality, able to effectively manage outside contracts to ensure work completed to acceptable standards.
  • IT literate, diligent professional with excellent communication skills.
