Frederic Smart is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Farm Grain Traders. We are based in Cambridgeshire, but would invite applications from within the Eastern Counties and East Midlands.
The Role
- Purchasing Grain, Pulses and Oilseeds directly from farmers, trading with existing accounts and developing new business relationships.
- Advising farmers on the grain markets, helping them with strategic guidance and expert insight.
- Selling quality seed and other essential arable inputs to help farmers maximise their crops.
- Managing and maintaining relations with your producer accounts.
- Liaising with the trading team at the office and remaining in touch with markets and requirements.
About You
- An interest or background in farming would be useful, but not essential.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build effective relationships.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of initiative, coupled with strong planning and organisational skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, and commercial awareness.
- A reasonable level of IT literacy.
