Overview
To seek funding and perform experimental studies using a variety of test systems and analytical techniques to support a range of ongoing projects relating to transdermal drug delivery, skin decontamination, evaluation of personal protective equipment and chemical analysis of forensic samples.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the research team in delivering projects to time, cost and quality.
- Design and organise studies based on customer objectives.
- Attend project meetings as required.
- Data acquisition and analysis as required.
- Contribute to the design and organisation of research projects.
- Contribute to peer reviewed papers and presentations at international conferences.
- Supervise and mentor junior members of staff.
- Draft and complete final project reports and technical papers.
- Assist with project administration.
Specific Expertise
- Minimum qualification of higher degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) with appropriate work experience.
- Experience working as part of a scientific research team including the handling of confidential/sensitive information.
- Demonstrable track record of research achievements, such as publications in peer-reviewed journals, income generation, professional awards, etc.
- Knowledge of appropriate databases and methodology for conducting literature reviews.
- Hands-on experience and detailed knowledge of dermal absorption studies, use of analytical equipment (e.g., LC-MS, GC-MS, etc.) and basic competence in computer coding (e.g., C+, Python, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills (written and oral).
Position Details
- Job Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, occasional weekend
- Pay: £30,000 - £45,000 per year
- Supplemental Pay: Bonus scheme
- Benefits: Company pension, on-site parking, bonus scheme
