We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to step into a General Counsel role. This is a full-time, office-based position in the Heathrow Airport area (5 days a week).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely legal counsel to executives on various topics (commercial agreements, dispute resolution, corporate finance, and commercial law).
  • Manage complex legal transactions from a project perspective, ensuring input from all relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead risk management strategies within the company.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Handle Company Secretarial duties.
  • Draft and review agreements, contracts, and legal documents.
  • Manage external counsel and consultants to ensure value for money.
  • Clarify legal language and specifications for internal teams.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes and developments.

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified UK solicitor with at least 10 years PQE (considering other PQE levels and lawyers from other common law jurisdictions eligible to sit QLT).
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, especially corporate finance, dispute resolution, and contracts.
  • Methodical with keen attention to detail.
  • Commercially astute with a pragmatic approach to legal practice.
  • Experience in reputable law firms and/or business environments.
  • Proven track record as legal counsel in fast-paced settings.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Good judgment and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Approximately 8 years of experience in a small to medium national law firm before transitioning to business roles.
