We are seeking a dynamic and motivated General Manager to join our team at The Bootlegger. The ideal candidate should be a hardworking, creative, and charismatic industry professional with the style and panache to lead the team. Responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of this 7-day operation, you will have full accountability for the performance of the site and will be expected to bring fresh, new, and exciting ideas to this already highly regarded and growing brand.
The recruitment process includes a two-stage interview and visit to our bar. This role is offered on a full-time contract and is available for an immediate start.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a General Manager at The Bootlegger, your main responsibilities include:
- Overall profit and loss accountability for the site, ensuring sales, gross margin and net profit targets are exceeded.
- Interacting with customers to develop loyalty and handle customer concerns.
- Ensuring all licenses are current including health, safety, and liquor.
- Creating employee schedules based on expected customer numbers.
- Leadership of the team of Bootleggers to create the right environment for customers.
- Working with liquor vendors to develop new products and offers.
- Productions and promotions for the bar.
- Setting and maintaining standards for cleanliness and safety.
- Collaborating with the Operations Director to negotiate with vendors, order suppliers, manage inventories, and budgets.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to hire, train, manage, and schedule staff.
- Extensive knowledge of liquor, bartending, and service protocols.
- Solid organizational skills and knowledge of budgets, inventories, and negotiating prices with vendors.
- Great sales skills and talent for developing promotions or new products.
- A minimum of 2 years General Manager experience is required in a bar or similar environment.
- Ambitious with a very strong work ethic.
