Mechanical Design Engineer

V&C Associates are working in partnership with an Engineering Consultancy who are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with Building Services experience to join their expanding design team.

The successful candidate will be expected to handle and execute medium sized projects and have the skills and experience to undertake a client facing role in the development, design and co-ordination of engineering projects.

The successful engineer would need to demonstrate experience in a wide range of project types and systems and be familiar with industry standards.

The applicant should be educated to degree level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 3/4 years industry experience and chartered or working towards chartered status. Able to demonstrate a continued Professional Development Programme.

The main job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Role & Responsibility

• Preparing plans, specifications, and schedules for the works
• Producing reports in support of the design concepts regarding compliance with standards and best practice
• Liaising with others in the design team
• Inspecting installations and reviewing progress quality and performance tests
• Supporting the design team and client regarding Operation and ongoing maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Environmental Engineering
• Preferably a member of a recognised industry body:
• CIBSE member
• Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers

• Autocad
• SBEM
• Revit/Navisworks
• Hevacomp
• BREEAM principles
• Building Regulations and Industry standards BS and EN

Experience

• At least 3 years with a recognised company
• Project experience preferred within several market sectors to include commercial, retail, industrial, Data centres.
