Our Southampton office is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Service Charge team. Our award-winning service charge team is one of the UK's largest residential service charge accounting firms and our company values and strong collaborative culture is at the forefront of everything we do.
The ideal candidate will have an exploratory approach to working in order to identify and solve problems efficiently. The role will require skills to work on large numbers of accounts, ensuring our methodology has been followed and feeding back to the more junior members, and any issues flagged to the client and the manager. A key focus on working in an efficient and quality environment is a must.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking the planning and execution of ISA800 audit assignments and Factual Findings Reports for our client's service charge accounts in accordance with best practice.
- Reviewing the work performed by more junior members of the team, and dealing with complex queries and client questions.
- Coaching and assisting the more junior team members in order to meet the client's needs.
- Involvement with practice and workflow management for the wider team.
- Aiding in the overall delivery of exceptional client service to our market-leading clients.
About you:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- AAT qualified or part ACCA/ACA qualified.
- A solid background and exposure to accounting and/or double entry bookkeeping.
- Ideally have experience of working within an accountancy practice.
- Have ability and confidence to deal with complex sets of accounts, with a high level of attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - written and verbal.
- Be able to confidently work alone but also be a team player.
- Organised and methodical approach to handling workload of both self and others.
- Be proficient in mainline MS Office products, with in-depth experience and knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of service charge accounting would be an advantage.
