Teaching Assistant
- Annual Salary: £16,000 – £21,000 (pro rata)
- Location: West Sussex
- Job Type: Full Time, Term Time
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support secondary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in students' lives and assisting them in overcoming challenges to achieve their educational goals.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and assistance.
- Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure all activities are suitable for students' needs.
- Assist in the development of social skills and positive behaviour through direct interaction and engagement.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support, focusing on academic and personal development.
- Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students and assist them in accessing the curriculum effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or young adults, particularly in an educational setting.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for educational support.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs education are highly advantageous.
