Job Description Due to continue growth, an exciting opportunity is now available for an Apprentice Vehicle Technician As a Vehicle Technician Apprentice you will prepare commercial vehicles, trailers and other Motor Vehicles for MOT. You will also Carry out daily and routine maintenance and repairs on of all makes and models of HGV trucks and trailers belonging to the Culina Group, Supporting the Technicians with servicing, inspecting and repairing. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour working week. Salary: £11.44 per hour. Key duties of a Technician Apprentice: Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workshop, with good condition safe equipment. Commercial vehicle maintenance, which includes company vehicles, Trailers and external customer maintenance activities (under supervision). Support the Technicians with servicing, inspecting and repairing a variety of repairs. Work towards conducting vehicle service and inspections in accordance with DVSA regulations on your own, once you have obtained the training, qualifications and sign off, at the relevant site. Prepare commercial vehicles, trailers and other Motor Vehicles for MOT. Carry out daily and routine maintenance and repairs on of all makes and models of HGV trucks and trailers belonging to the Culina Group. Always ensure you work in a Safe Environment at all times and be proactive with regards to safety within the workshop. Carry out work as directed to, either within the workshop or yard when safe to do so, and with the relevant training. Carry out additional tasks when requested by the Workshop Supervisor/Chargehand. Do not attempt a task you have not been trained to do or not being supervised whilst completing. Working towards completing work within the standard times set out Adapt a clean as you go attitude within the work place and adhere to the 7S system Ensure labour time and parts fitted are recorded on the relevant systems within the workshop Remember the signing off of documents are a legal requirement and therefore must be accurate and truthful Qualifications GCSE English and Maths – Grade 4 or above required. A qualification will need to be completed as part of the apprenticeship. Must be able to communicate within their own team and to key stakeholders. Good IT skills, competent in MS packages.
