Shirley Parsons is thrilled to announce its partnership with a global-leading Maritime classification and compliance specialist to seek out a Head of Environment & Operational Performance for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The selected candidate will spearhead the company's net-zero strategy, bolstered by science-based targets, and further elevate sustainability issues by championing tailored improvement initiatives.
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Take ownership of the sustainability strategy, fostering an organizational culture that consistently pursues enhanced sustainability performance through behavioural shifts and pioneering thought leadership.
- Generate comprehensive reports on the company's sustainability performance, ensuring data alignment and compliance with the reporting requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).
- Coordinate the execution of the emissions reduction plan in alignment with the company's long-term science-based targets and net-zero aspirations.
- Utilize your engaging personality traits to influence key internal stakeholders effectively.
- Continuously assess performance against internal and external benchmarks to ensure adherence to mandatory and voluntary standards and regulations.
The ideal candidate possesses:
- Extensive experience in implementing Environmental systems, including ISO 14001 and 45001.
- Demonstrated success in utilizing science-based targets to drive emission reduction implementation plans.
- Proven track record of effectively engaging stakeholders across all levels of the organization through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, rallying senior leaders behind sustainability strategies to facilitate success.
- A degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
