The role
As a Business Continuity Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The BCDR Manager will be within our Skynet programme that sits within the Mission System’s Space Line of Business. The role will report into the Business Operations Manager – Skynet for day-to-day delivery of the Skynet SDW Programme and the wider Business Continuity function for continued professional development. Day-to-day, the Business Continuity Manager is vital to ensuring the effectiveness and success of Business Continuity for critical services of the Skynet programme and key stakeholders across the programme.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Ensuring performance evaluation and continual improvement in the activities covered by the BCDR.
- Identifying and defining the key individuals and their roles involved in BC initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining the SDW BCMS to meet the ISO standard.
- Generating and maintaining Business Continuity policies and procedures, including the upkeep of the Business Continuity Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Designing and coordinating development, maintenance, and exercising (testing) of the overall business continuity plans for each critical functional area of SDW and ensuring that these meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting business impact analysis and assisting in determining critical business processes, assessing achievable recovery time objectives, and establishing resources required for the successful resumption of business operations during an event.
- Performing risk analysis for business functional areas to identify points of vulnerability and recommend disaster avoidance and reduction strategies.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Business Continuity Manager:
- Risk Analysis of different functional areas.
- Production and management of a Business Continuity Management Framework complying with the ISO standard.
- Production, Management and Testing of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans, processes and procedures.
- Effective restoration of key corporate resources and the resumption of critical business processes in the event of a disaster.
Qualifications for the Business Continuity Manager:
- Suitable BCI/BSI Business Continuity qualification or experience.
- Certified ISO experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and eventually Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. SC clearance will need to be applied for at time of offer, if not already held. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
