Job Purpose: The successful candidate will be required to provide input and expertise in the design, definition, and delivery of subsea control systems at all phases, and beyond into installation, commissioning and operational support. This will include the system design and package management of subsea control systems in both traditional oil and gas projects and Energy Transition such as Carbon Capture and Underground Storage. Job scope: Typical activities include: Definition of subsea controls equipment and umbilicals and architecture for concept and FEED studies. Contribution to the selection and options process for the initial field layout and architecture. Undertaking specialist subsea control system studies for system expansion, life extension, fault finding and fault rectification. Package management for the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of new systems and equipment. Operations support and system integrity management. Support to interface engineering, subsea system engineering & management. Main Accountabilities: Delivery of Subsea Controls Systems in accordance with project requirements, Client Design and Engineering Practices, Industry Standards & Guidelines (International, National and Company) and UK Regulations. Typical background and experience required: Minimum Experience: Strong experience in subsea controls design. Good knowledge of subsea controls equipment, umbilicals, interfaces and key codes and standards. Good knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems. Excellent communication skills. Excellent report writing skills. Full command of English language. Good computer literacy with competence in MS office software. Advantageous Experience: Experience in manufacturing, OEM design or offshore environment. Experience with working on Study projects & contributing to FEEDs, Option reviews etc. Experience in the delivery, installation, and commissioning of subsea control systems. First Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering disciple / Chartered Engineer. Knowledge of HV AC/DC distribution systems and networks. It is essential that applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Flexibility for ad hoc travel both within UK and abroad: Genesis and/or client offices / offshore visits.
