As the Head of Global Payroll, you are responsible for the design, deployment, and governance of the global payroll operating model, strategy, service standards, key control environment, and leadership of the global payroll team situated across Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. You are fully accountable for the compliant execution of the end-to-end payroll operations in both in-house and outsourced payroll setups (in line with the established People Services standards). You own the Global Payroll KPI Methodology, governance and reporting, as well as the selection & management of third-party payroll providers. You coach & develop the global team through ensuring a strong capacity planning framework, deployment, and alignment on the regional level of the global strategy, roles & expectations. You also drive a talent & succession strategy providing a clear and inspiring vision to the team in order to achieve the best results and attract & retain the best talent. You are the key global point of contact to various stakeholders and senior leadership across the People department and the business in relation to the end-to-end payroll process. The role drives alignment with senior business leaders on strategic priorities & dependencies affecting employee pay, operational execution, and key control environment.
What we expect from you:
- Innovate, design, implement, and maintain global payroll operating models, strategy, governance.
- Lead a team of 35 people (4 direct reports) spanning across 65 countries, 97 entities, and 4 business units.
- Strong operational management across different time zones, business units, and large/diverse country footprint through in-house or outsourced payroll.
- Continuous improvement and leveraging best-in-class solutions and technologies as needed to drive operational excellence.
- SOX compliance.
- Managing payroll technology adoption (Workday, SAP/S4 HANA understanding & knowledge).
- Change & project management, escalation management, HR operations.
Experience & Skills:
- 8+ years managing end-to-end payroll process within a large organization (ideally SSC model).
- 6+ years of being in a leadership role managing large teams (including managing managers).
- Proven track record of designing operating models & rollouts, managing stakeholders across various levels.
- Strong record of tech & vendor adoption and management.
- Experience in leading HR services (next to payroll) is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and adapt in fast-paced/complex environments.
