Job Overview: The Principal Scientist is a Subject Matter Expert within Process Chemistry and provides scientific skill and leadership to solve high complexity chemical development issues for assigned projects and/or initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute complex experiments, analyze results, and plan further studies.
- Stay updated on new technologies to contribute to scientific advancements internally and externally.
- Document and report findings per department and regulatory standards (GLP, GMP, ICH, etc.).
- Align cross-functional efforts to meet client and business objectives.
- Mentor junior scientists and collaborate with peers to drive scientific strategy.
- Complete all required technical, procedural, and policy-based training.
- Work within established workflows, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain a well-organized lab environment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Work efficiently and meet project timelines while upholding high-quality standards.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain training records and report any safety concerns to management.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.
What We're Looking For:
- PhD in Chemistry or related field.
- Customer service focused.
- 10 years of industrial experience within a relevant role.
- Evidence of experience in successful application of analytical/physical skill sets to resolve high complexity chemical problems.
- Evidence of ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary scientific teams.
- Competency in the routine use of core instrumentation and laboratory techniques and higher-end instrumentation and laboratory techniques.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively present scientific findings to colleagues.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage projects effectively.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
