Our client, a Fashion House, is looking for an experienced Assistant Apparel Product Developer for a Full Time, permanent role based in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring fashion designer/developer. Working for an amazing company in the sportswear industry, you can learn and grow within the organisation. At this global sportswear/athleisure brand, you will be managing the development and sampling process working along with the Product Developers and Factories/Suppliers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the sampling process to delivery of salesmen samples.
- Liaise with Far East factories and suppliers on a day-to-day basis.
- Updating the sample tracker/production approval status.
- Check PLM for approvals regularly.
- Work with designers, product developers and operation team.
- Send out PP/shipment samples to the buyers for approval or reference.
- Assist and support the Product developer with the day-to-day duties.
- Amend cad Overviews, cad drawings or tech packs where required.
- Create allocation Overviews or update Overviews as required.
- Convert all approved designs to Jpeg for upload to PLM.
- Measure & prepare samples and make notes related to the products.
- Display samples ready for customer meetings!
- Ensuring all Materials, Trims & Labelling/Packaging are all correct before production commences.
- Assisting in the Critical path management and attending the meetings with the Operations team.
- Box and categorise samples to be kept in the rolling racking.
- From time to time attend buyer meetings.
- Ensure data integrity.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ apparel product development experience within the industry.
- Good Product development competency.
- Good track record of working as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Methodical and diligent work.
