We are looking for an experienced strategist to lead our European Institutional Sales Strategy Team. The team is a key resource for our sales and relationship management teams, providing insights on institutional market trends and equipping colleagues to engage with clients on key opportunities. The Head will be a key subject matter expert on institutional investment issues in the DB, DC and wealth sectors, maintaining a high visibility with major clients and their advisors and engaging with the wider pensions and institutional market. This will be accomplished through thought leadership research, direct client engagement, conference presentations, and media contributions. In addition, the head will also work closely with GCC leadership to set strategy for the region, including maintaining and developing high quality management information and insights on our sales business. The team will identify key sales opportunities across the region and develop and support campaigns and collateral to capitalize on those opportunities. This role is part of the Global Client Coverage Group and you will report to the Head of UK Institutional Distribution.
What you will be responsible for:
- Lead the European Institutional Sales Strategy team (2 strategists; 1 analyst)
- Serve as channel expert during meetings with clients, prospects, consultants, advisors, platforms and partners
- Develop insightful proprietary research and thought leadership material that can be leveraged across the client base working with relevant stakeholders
- Collaborate with Investment and Business Office stakeholders to develop the right product set, positioning, collateral and support for the institutional business
- Provide strategic input to European institutional business development through identification of key issues and trends, and analysis of key sales management information
- Develop and support sales campaigns to capitalize on key opportunities in our markets
- Build and drive strong internal and external relationships, notably investment, distribution, and operations teams, and external clients, consultants, and industry organisations, working with relevant Account Executives
- Act as institutional thought leader and spokesperson in the media, press, conferences etc.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the European Institutional business strategy, including product, distribution and marketing
- Maintain a culture of Risk Excellence on the team and ensure compliance with State Street policy and regulatory requirements.

Education and experience requirements:
- 10 years+ experience of Institutional market as a strategist or consultant
