As a Designer, you will be responsible for applying Insidesource’s creative expertise and design services to support new and existing clients. You will work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop creative interior space solutions that meet customer needs. This includes engaging with customers to gather project information, perform field verifications, space planning, furniture and material selections, product specification, and quality assurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the project team to qualify aesthetic, performance, budget, and schedule criteria to meet customer’s project goals.
  • Engage with customers to clarify project information and uncover challenges.
  • Conduct product research to find appropriate furniture solutions, accessories, fabric, and finish approvals to meet budget, lead-time, and aesthetic requirements.
  • Produce and present design concepts to customers.
  • Contact vendors for pricing and manage all project-related quotes.
  • Obtain customer approvals for design development packets before final specifications.
  • Perform field measurements and inventories, incorporating findings into design deliverables.
  • Specify furniture per final layouts and finishes.
  • Create and revise furniture block plans, space plans, finish palettes, and installation drawings.
  • Develop validation packages and spreadsheets.
  • Estimate project hours and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with outsourced design providers, ensuring clear communication and direction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None, but may involve directing outsourced providers.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in Dealership or A&D firm preferred.
  • NCIDQ or CIDA accreditation preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2018/CET, CAP 2020 Worksheet preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Sketch-Up, and web applications.
  • Strong knowledge of interior design practices and building codes.
  • Understanding of workplace trends and commercial furniture processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
