We specialise in delivering top-quality programs and apprenticeships that have a significant impact on leaders and managers, their careers, and employers. Our effective learning tools have enabled us to build a diverse client base spanning industries such as media, financial services, government, retail, and several NHS Trusts, among others. Due to a period of continued growth, we are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team.

Reporting into the Business Development Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with prospective and existing clients, selling our proud range of Leadership & Management apprenticeship and training solutions, growing national apprenticeship starts in line with the KnowledgeBrief growth plan and contributing to the ongoing success of the Commercial team.

What's On Offer?

  • Full-time role, 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary: £30,000-£40,000 per annum, dependent on experience, with a competitive commission structure
  • Undertake a Chartered Management Institute qualification with the company as part of a strong professional development culture
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays. Paid company closure over the winter holidays
  • 2-weeks full sick pay per year
  • Role location: Remote working from home with travel to London required once per month. This will be paid for.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying prospects – Utilise various research methods to identify potential new apprenticeship clients.
  • Business Development - Generate initial interest by employing cold calling, email campaigns, social media outreach, and other business development strategies.
  • Networking – Attend a variety of networking events to identify and cultivate new prospects.
  • Client engagement – Lead client meetings, both virtually and in person, to understand their requirements and deliver initial presentations.
  • Business proposal – Ensure timely production of business proposals in accordance with internal guidelines.
  • Targets - Meet individual monthly Apprenticeship starts targets and support the business in meeting its wider goals.
  • Apprenticeship Briefings - Conduct briefings for apprenticeship learners and managers.
  • Account Management - Schedule regular service meetings to provide support to clients and identify additional sales opportunities.
  • Prospect Information: Provide timely updates and information on prospects to the Commercial Director.
  • CRM Management: Update and manage prospect and customer records in the company's CRM system.

Ideal candidates will be able to showcase some or all of the following personal qualities and experience:

  • Experience working in telesales or business development is essential.
  • A proven track record in building relationships and booking qualified appointments.
  • Credible and professional communication and interpersonal skills, able to quickly form connections at all levels, including senior management and director levels.
  • A customer-orientated attitude with the ability to engage with a wide range of clients from varying industries.
  • Self-driven, able to self-motivate and prioritise own workload.
  • Resilient and able to bounce back quickly from setbacks.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments.
  • Experience working in/with apprenticeship training providers is desired but not essential.
  • A professional, enthusiastic, organised, and driven approach to your work.
