We’re NFP, an Aon Company, providing services and solutions to support businesses and people globally, including the UK, Ireland, EMEA, APAC, and North America. During this time of rapid growth for our European arm, we seek someone to take ownership of their workload and collaborate closely with both senior and junior team members. The Business Management Assistant Manager will be responsible for their workload while working closely with team members. As the team and business grow, this role offers a unique opportunity to expand on broader account knowledge and engage in more complex advisory projects.

Overview of duties:

  • Review bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts
  • Review financial statements and sole trade accounts
  • Review corporation tax returns
  • Draft advice with support from Managers and Directors
  • Understand disclosures
  • Manage a small portfolio of clients
  • Act as the first point of contact for your client portfolio
  • Liaise with clients on deadlines and requirements
  • Understand clients’ principal activities and services
  • Communicate with clients for necessary information
  • Build strong relationships with clients
  • Assist clients with ad hoc financial questions, including interpreting results
  • Help clients set up and develop internal systems and controls, including implementing accounting software
  • Confidently relay knowledge on tax and other affairs to reassure clients
  • Create and implement processes to ensure smooth practice operations
  • Assist junior staff with their career development
  • Support internal training for staff

Person specification:

  • Committed to maintaining high-level technical knowledge
  • Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios

  • Excellent analytical and research skills

Education / and or Experience:

  • Competent in MS Products - Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with Iris, Alpha, Quickbooks, and Sage 50
  • Professional qualification (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
  • Solid public practice experience
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience
