Role Overview: We are on the hunt for a skilled Firewall Engineer with extensive experience in Fortinet firewalls and FortiManager policies. You’ll be part of a high-impact project where you’ll review, create, and optimize firewall rules for our regional distribution centres (RDCs) and headquarters (HQ).
What You’ll Do:
- Review and implement firewall rules using provided templates.
- Analyze firewall logs to spot gaps and implement new rules.
- Document communication requirements for each application and server.
- Disable outdated rules in line with change management processes.
Your Expertise:
- Proven experience with Fortinet firewalls and FortiManager policies.
- Skilled in analysing firewall logs.
- Proficient in using Splunk queries (desirable).
- Strong understanding of change management processes.
Background: Our current firewall rules in RDCs and HQ are too permissive and need stricter controls. Information about required ports for servers and applications is currently lacking, but a comprehensive list of firewall rules from an existing template can be used as a baseline.
Goal: To review, create, and tidy up all firewall rules in warehouses and HQ.
