To work for one of the leading global law firms based in London. This Head of Data role will drive the strategic use of all data within the company and will collaborate with key business areas to maximise data insights and business strategic direction. The role is accountable for the development and execution of that data strategy and will lead a team of people in Data across engineering, science, analytics and architecture. The Head of Data will lead the establishment and maturity of a hub and data delivery model as part of an initiative to democratise data and place data at the fingertips of those making key decisions across the firm including the Board. You will act as the principal adviser on data and business intelligence within the firm and drive a data-driven culture that will inspire and show everybody what is possible.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and own a data strategy that aligns to the firm's business goals.
- Work closely with the Head of Architecture to design and develop a target architecture that helps simplify, optimise and modernise the data and technology landscape.
- Transition the data capability into the firms Target Operating Model.
- Work in collaboration with the Head of Platforms and Head of Product to optimise the existing data platform.
- Develop and execute the AI strategy and roadmap for the firm.
- Lead the Data Governance function to identify and mitigate data risk across the business.
Skills/Experience
- Proven experience of designing data strategies from business requirements.
- Experience of leading a team of data subject matter experts to inspire, manage and give growth opportunities to the team – being a brilliant people leader.
- The ability to inspire, influence stakeholders at all levels and tell the data story.
- You will be a hands-on leader across all areas of data including architecture, Power BI, and SQL.
- Knowledge and experience of meeting Data Governance requirements.
- Previous experience of executing an advanced AI data strategy.
- Ideally strong knowledge of the MS stack.
- The ability to have gravitas in your expert area and influence a Board with a compelling narrative as to why you are implementing your strategy.
