A Vacancy at East London NHS Foundation Trust. This post is for the clinical service lead, who will oversee a new and innovative pilot Transitions to Adulthood hub service for young people aged 18-25. Commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), this service brings together East London NHS Foundation Trust, as a member of the London Pathways Partnership, with voluntary sector partners Rights and Equalities in Newham (REIN) and Together for Mental Wellbeing, to develop creative approaches to engaging young people on probation in Newham.

The hub will provide wrap-around support tailored to the distinct needs of young adults, including an understanding of maturity, in order to reduce reoffending, improve mental health and support young adults to make positive life choices. The service is co-located in Newham probation and delivers therapeutic, psychological and psychiatric interventions to young adults and will embed psychologically informed practice across the hub, with an emphasis on trauma informed care. Young black and Muslim men and women are significantly represented in the hub and our staff require a high level of cultural competence and sensitivity to issues relevant to young minoritised groups. We hope to recruit a staff team reflective of our service user population and welcome applications from those with protected characteristics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of governance and operational policies and procedures necessary to run a high quality and safe service.
  • Oversight of service model, including assessment, interventions, training, staff support and reflective practice.
  • Clinical and service lead for TtA, including line management and supervision responsibilities.
  • Liaison with key stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions within and across services, agencies and sectors, including ELFT Newham directorate, HMPPS, and voluntary partners.
