We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated mental health team at HMP Askham Grange. HMP Askham Grange is an open category D female prison based in Askham Richard, near York, housing around 120 women. You will be joining an established and experienced team, supporting women aged 18 plus; the site also includes a mother and baby unit. This role has a low volume of patients requiring Psychiatrist support, which will enable you to provide consistent and high-quality patient care.
Hours: 1 day per month/8 hours to be worked between Monday-Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm
Salary: This position is a part-time role, you'll receive an annual salary up to £189,900 per annum FTE - depending on experience.
How will we support you? You will be part of a team of 15 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists. You will be able to attend monthly Consultant's meetings and 1:1 clinical supervision. Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course. Competency framework.

What you'll be doing: As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the case load onsite.
- Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision.
- Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications required:
- Registered professional with current registration (GMC).
- Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry.
- Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983.
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
- Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD.
- Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation.
