Here at EMED we have an opportunity for a Bank Transport Controller (Dispatch/Planner) in Bristol. As a Controller, you will be planning and controlling the daily movement of non-emergency medically eligible patients to and from NHS Healthcare facilities efficiently and effectively. Controllers will liaise with hospital staff and departments to ensure that good communications are maintained, and patients are moved in a timely manner to offer the control room resilience.
Essential criteria:
- Experience of working in a similar transport control environment, using logistical and planning skills.
- Be comfortable using a computer and a variety of IT systems (full training on our software is provided).
- Working effectively as a part of the team.
- Be customer service focused and able to effectively handle sensitive situations.
- Be able to stay calm under pressure.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Good telephone manner.
Desired criteria:
- Experience of controlling, dispatching and planning NEPTS (Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service) journeys.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the geographical area.
