We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on I.T Manager to lead our technology initiatives and manage our internal I.T Function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the IT systems strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and growth plans. This role requires a hands-on I.T Manager from an SME background with a proven track record of managing complex IT systems and driving innovation. You will be a key contributor to our company's success by ensuring our technology infrastructure is robust, secure, and aligned with our strategic objectives. Ideally, the successful person will live within commuting distance of Manchester as you will be required to come on site and will have previous experience of working for an SME within the software industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Technology Vision & Execution: Chart and implement the overarching IT strategy, ensuring it directly fuels the company's expansion and strategic objectives.
  • Application Ecosystem Oversight: Direct the development, deployment, and ongoing optimization of core software applications, emphasizing performance, security, and scalability.
  • Operational Efficiency Enhancement: Discover and implement automation, system integration (APIs), and data analytics solutions (Business Intelligence tooling) to streamline workflows and boost productivity.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance Enforcement: Uphold stringent security protocols and regulatory adherence across all IT systems, safeguarding data and ensuring compliance with industry standards (ISO, GDPR).
  • Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration: Cultivate strong relationships with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to drive system improvements and introduce cutting-edge technologies.
  • Digital Transformation Leadership: Champion innovation and digital transformation initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Risk Mitigation & Business Continuity: Proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate IT-related risks, ensuring uninterrupted business operations and protecting company assets.
  • Technical Issue Resolution & Support: Establish and manage robust IT support processes, ensuring swift and effective resolution of technical incidents to minimize business impact.
  • Software Portfolio Management: Take ownership of all software-related projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required specifications.
  • Governance and Procedure Implementation: Design and implement software governance and change management processes to ensure smooth software rollouts and user adoption.
  • Security Posture Maintenance: Ensure regular security audits and vulnerability scans are performed, and that all findings are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Leadership: Invest in positive working relationships across all aspects of our business and be a Thought Leader on getting projects right first time.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of organisational software strategy and its alignment with business goals.
  • Experience of working for an SME and ideally from a Software/Data background.
  • Expertise in implementing Software Quality Assurance across the organisation.
  • Ability to actively get involved in every phase of the project and pitch in when required.
  • Ability to interact effectively with both technical and business personnel.
  • Highly organised and structured approach to working.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • An understanding of the following systems/technologies: Microsoft 365: Azure, Office, Salesforce, CRM, Gainsight platforms to provide system wide integration (API’s), Business Intelligence tooling (Reports).
