Absolute Recruit is proud to partner with a leading IT Managed Service Provider specialising in the Education Sector. We are seeking a Senior IT Engineer to provide expert-level technical support, infrastructure management, and project implementation across various sites with 100’s of endpoints and users. This customer-facing role requires a confident technical professional who can engage with clients and stakeholders, deliver high-level troubleshooting, and drive strategic IT improvements. Prior experience in an MSP or educational IT environment is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the final escalation point for complex technical issues across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Google Workspace, and networking.
- Diagnose and resolve deep-rooted infrastructure, cloud, and security challenges.
- Design, implement, and optimise on-premise and cloud-based IT solutions.
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and IT security compliance (Cyber Essentials, GDPR).
- Lead network upgrades, cloud migrations, and cybersecurity projects.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical leadership.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong expertise in Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Azure AD.
- Advanced knowledge of networking (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, wireless).
- Experience with virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V, VMware).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Datto).
- Cybersecurity expertise, including endpoint protection, MFA, and SIEM tools.
