Energy Infrastructure & Highways – Edinburgh

First People Solutions is working with one of the UK’s top consulting engineers in Edinburgh, who are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to join their team. You’ll get to work on projects like energy infrastructure, highways, active travel, and much more.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the feasibility and pre-planning assessments of engineering infrastructure
2. Assist in the design of major infrastructure, energy and highway schemes
3. Ensure documents, designs and drawings are consistently high in quality and compliance with design standards, industry best practice, contractual obligations and client expectations
4. Assist in the communication with clients, regulators and other stakeholders, and preparation of bids and proposals
5. Attendance at design meetings
6. Work alongside engineering teams and associated consulting engineers

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
2. 3 years post qualification experience working within a design engineering environment in the UK
3. Good knowledge of infrastructure design at concept, feasibility and construction level
4. Knowledge of policy and design standards (e.g. DMRB, MCDHW, SuDS Manual, Sewers for Scotland, etc.)
5. Competent in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
6. Full clean drivers licence
