Drive procurement strategy from product development to market launch, ensuring supplier involvement, cost targets, and sourcing timelines while leading improvement projects to enhance savings, margin, and revenue.

Your role:

  • Drive strategic procurement initiatives by partnering with Research & Development, Product Management, and suppliers to support new product development, sourcing, and product sustainability.
  • Ensure early supplier involvement during product development and launch phases, meeting Bill of Material cost targets and ensuring on-time, on-plan sourcing.
  • Lead procurement improvement projects to enhance cost efficiency, drive design-to-cost strategies, and execute cost reduction programs, boosting Business Unit quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Manage supplier sourcing and onboarding in alignment with global procurement category strategy, conducting Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ), while tracking material cost and timeline progress.
  • Oversee procurement project execution by planning, organizing, and reporting on assigned scopes, driving performance improvements, and leveraging the global procurement network for added value.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 6+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category/commodity management within a large international company, preferably in the medical, automotive, or aerospace industries.
  • Your skills include expertise in supplier management, R&D collaboration, and sourcing, with experience in diverse technologies such as molding, extrusion, precision metals, and electronics.
  • Bonus: Deep knowledge of long-term structural cost drivers for assigned products/categories.
  • You have a Master’s degree in a technical or commercial discipline.
  • You’re an analytical and results-driven professional with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of structuring and organizing multiple activities while building solid business cases based on data-driven insights.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. This role is an office role.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in (Nashville or Florida) is $114,000 to $159,600. The pay range for this position in (Cambridge) is $127,680 to $178,752. The pay range for this position in (Chicago) is $119,700 to $167,580. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future. Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Chicago, Nashville, Florida or Cambridge. This requisition is expected to stay active for 45 days but may close earlier if a successful candidate is selected or business necessity dictates.
