Workday Adaptive Planning Consultant – 3 Month Contract – ASAP Start

Main Purpose of the Role & Responsibilities

As a Workday Adaptive Planning Consultant, you will work independently or as part of a team to help clients transform their business planning needs, including budgeting, revenue, personnel, KPIs, quotas/capacity, territories, reporting, and analytics. You will be responsible for delivering Workday Adaptive Planning implementations for customers of all sizes and across multiple industries, while also providing mentorship to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workday Adaptive Planning Expertise: Maintain proficiency and certification in the Workday Adaptive Planning suite.
  • Implementation Leadership: Lead all phases of Workday Adaptive Planning projects, including:
  • Understanding client planning processes and consulting on transitioning legacy models to Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Recommending optimal solutions based on client requirements, budget, and timeline, while adapting scope as needed.
  • Conducting design sessions and guiding configuration decisions using best practices.
  • Developing accurate forecasting and planning models tailored to clients’ needs.
  • Conducting training sessions and documenting planning models and reporting solutions.
  • Ensuring timely and budget-friendly project delivery.
  • Client Success & Communication: Engage with clients regularly, providing clear and concise updates to ensure success, and serve as a key resource for project-related inquiries.
  • Internal Collaboration: Share learnings and solutions with colleagues to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Business Development Support: Assist in the sales process, including estimating work delivery efforts.
  • People Development: Mentor and support junior team members, assisting in their career growth and professional development.

Minimum (Essential) Requirements

  • Strong financial and/or management accounting experience, with expertise in budgeting, planning, and management reporting.
  • Experience in designing and building complex financial planning models with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to understand a client’s business model and translate it into a functional software model.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior audiences.
  • Broad business and technology knowledge, with awareness of financial and enterprise resource planning trends.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate within teams, fostering an inclusive and supportive culture.
  • Understanding of project methodologies and their role in successful implementations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and balance client needs with project goals.
  • Strong consulting skills, including workshop facilitation and solution presentation.
  • Passion for developing talent and contributing to a thriving professional community.
  • Ability to suggest and implement process improvements within the practice.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites when required (regional with occasional out-of-region travel).

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with at least one Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system (e.g., Workday Adaptive Planning, Host Analytics, Anaplan, Oracle Hyperion).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with strong industry experience.

People Management (Where Applicable)
