Swissport is seeking a dedicated and proactive Interline Coordinator to join our team at the airport. As an Interline Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth transfer of passenger baggage, particularly for Lufthansa Group airlines (LH/LX/OS) in the spur area. Your primary responsibility will be to solve baggage-related issues and prevent potential misconnections.
Responsibilities
- Actively monitor and intervene in baggage handling processes to prevent missed connections.
- Identify and rectify situations where bags have been erroneously sent to the customs hall.
- Locate and redirect bags that have dropped down the wrong chute.
- Utilise BccR/HAL BSM systems to track and chase missing bags.
- Enter K-edit tag numbers into the baggage tracking system.
- Maintain constant communication with all relevant parties via WhatsApp regarding late bags to flights.
- Ensure VIP Airport bags are prioritized and make it onto their designated flights.
- Liaise with various airport departments including Check-in, Flight Control Center (FCC), Lufthansa Duty Manager (LH DM), Ramp, and Operations.
- Compile and submit daily reports to Lufthansa Group detailing reasons for missed bags.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in airport operations or baggage handling preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using airline and airport computer systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with WhatsApp and other communication platforms.
