This position is responsible for the delivery of all network infrastructure security solutions as it relates to firewall, IDS/IPS, remote access, & business partner connectivity. This position will ensure that the security systems are properly planned, installed, configured, secured, and maintained. The candidate will develop, document, and implement best practices and standards. The individual will work closely with the business IT, planning, engineering, and operations teams to create solutions that scale and can be leveraged and supported broadly for a fast-growing company. The candidate will provide technical leadership and work on multiple projects or issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge of multiple technical areas.
Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the engineering of network security infrastructure: firewalls, remote access, B2B connectivity, CASB, cloud network security, & IDS/IPS.
- Responsible for receiving requests from Business Application & Security teams, translating the requirements from the request into advanced firewall policy rulesets which can then be installed on network security infrastructure.
- Responsible for the technical day-to-day engineering of the network security solutions including work prioritization, request, incident, problem, and change management.
- Responsible for maintaining policies, procedures, and training plans for network security technologies.
- Work closely with the customers IT Information Security teams to ensure overall security requirements of network connectivity are achieved.
- Implement and maintain network security best practices by assessing current threats, vulnerabilities, risk, lifecycle of equipment, & associated technical countermeasures.
- Responsible for requesting quotes from vendors, high-level financial budgeting, & maintaining accurate records of equipment/licenses.
- Other projects or duties as assigned annually by leadership based on high-level goals & business needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
- Bachelor’s Degree in technology discipline or 2 years of experience in IT.
- Experience with medium to large enterprises with multiple remote locations and users.
- Ability to understand enterprise security requirements, develop designs and solutions that align and meet requirements for the IT and business roadmaps.
- 2+ years of experience working with application owners and other IT stakeholders to build and support the most efficient and stable security capabilities.
- Strong ability to clearly document system design elements including use of appropriate documentation tools.
- Demonstrated excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in previously mentioned areas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends, as necessary.
- This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Skills and Experience:
- Working knowledge of SIEM systems and procedures.
- Deploying Security features of Next Generation Firewall Platforms.
- Working knowledge on PaloAlto firewalls.
- Splunk and ServiceNow experience preferred.
