Our client, a prestigious law firm in London, is seeking a Finance Manager for a 7-month contract. This role requires full-time office presence for the first three months, followed by one day per week working from home.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for the London office’s finance function.
- Supervise and support the London Finance Assistant.
- Maintain financial controls and processes to ensure compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) requirements.
- Manage the monthly and annual financial statement close processes, ensuring timely reporting of financial results and key performance indicators.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for senior management.
- Oversee cash flow and working capital management to support business operations.
- Coordinate financial audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Review VAT returns and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in legal finance.
- Strong understanding of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (SARs) and legal accounting procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Experience with 3E Elite (ERP), Xcelerate (Budgeting/Forecasting), and Chrome River (expense reporting) is advantageous.
