About the role
MUBI is looking for a passionate Programming Manager to join our team in London. Working across Programming and Licensing, and closely with our content and marketing teams, you would be central to bringing great cinema to the MUBI platform in the United Kingdom and Ireland. You will focus on:
- Support the execution of MUBI’s Programming vision in the UK in alignment with key metrics and growth objectives.
- Drive platform growth through strategic use of content based on performance data, including developing stunts, planning monthly highlights and liaising with Marketing on key titles.
- Assist in screening content for platform suitability to curate exciting titles and collections that align with MUBI’s editorial line and brand universe while supporting subscriber acquisition and retention.
- Help to build monthly schedules and create monthly curation documentation to be presented and shared with other teams such as marketing.
- Ensure content is presented optimally, adhering to MUBI’s curatorial values and core objective, including metadata checks.
- Source, negotiate, and draft licence deals for library titles and platform exclusives for the UK.
- Support and maintain relationships with rights holders in coordination with the Senior Programming Manager.
- Report on the programme’s performance, prepare analytics reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
- Assist in reporting and analysis to support data-informed programming decisions.
- Organise and maintain the local inventory, gauging programming possibilities and activating local licensing initiatives.
- Work with the Editorial team to introduce and contextualise programming for UK subscribers.
- Work closely with Marketing and Communications team to ensure that Programming reaches the widest audience.
- Maintaining relationships with third-party platforms and overseeing their content offering is up to date.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and the competitive landscape.
What you will bring:
- 3-5 years experience in the film or streaming industry in a curatorial or licensing role, with at least 2 years acquisitions, programming or sales experience.
- Proficient in data analysis with the ability to use data to inform editorial decisions.
- Passionate about great cinema. Strong cinema knowledge—domestic and international, past and present—is strongly desired.
- Familiarity with local distributors and good understanding of the arthouse and independent film market, and the digital distribution landscape in the UK.
- Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills to effectively manage multiple concurrent tasks.
- Presentation skills. Feeling confident to present local programming to wider teams.
- A hands-on approach and desire to try new things.
- A co-operative, communicative, and team-oriented work style.
- A keen interest and enthusiasm in working within the fast-moving media industry.
