Asia Equity Macro Analyst

Our client, a leading >$65Bn AUM Hedge Fund is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Asia Investment Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of investing in Asia, with a particular focus on China, and will play a crucial role in supporting our Long/Short Equity Portfolio Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct macroeconomic and equity research with a strong focus on Asian markets, particularly China.
• Develop and apply econometric models to analyse economic trends, company fundamentals, and market dynamics.
• Monitor geopolitical, regulatory, and sector-specific developments across Asian markets.
• Collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.

You MUST have:

• Strong academic background in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 4+ years experience in Asia (China) equity/macro research, macroeconomic analysis, or investment strategy within a hedge fund, asset management firm, or research institution.
• Expertise in econometric modeling and proficiency in statistical tools such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
• In-depth knowledge of Asian markets, particularly China, including economic policies, market structure, and corporate landscape.
• Ability to translate research and data into actionable investment insights.
• Mandarin or another Asian language is a plus but not essential.
