You will be joining a well-regarded and established accounts payable team, one that has consistently performed to ensure that the operational finance elements that the University of Bradford relies so heavily on are delivered in a timely and efficient manner. This is an opportunity to continue and expand upon the positive impact that the team has already made.

What you will be doing:

  • Managing the Accounts Payable team and the associated workload, ensuring that all staff are fully trained in their roles and that processes are efficient and effective and undertaken in line with University policies and financial regulations.
  • Provide Accounts Payable training to key members of staff across the University involved with the creation of purchase orders, goods receipting and authorisation.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve transaction or system issues, collaborating with others as required.
  • Provision of regular management information and reports highlighting both areas of success and those requiring improvement actions.
  • Work with the central procurement team to improve the purchase to pay process and ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • As and when required, improve awareness and understanding of Accounts Payable regulations and processes in line with your current posts grading.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and may be required to work in any section of the Department to meet changing workload demands at different times of the year.
