Are you an experienced Estimator looking for a new challenge? We are working with a well-established local business who are looking to introduce further expertise to their close-knit team. Your skills and experience will be highly valued, and you'll take full ownership of projects, client liaison and see jobs through to sign off.
The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating costs associated with various projects (materials, labour, plant), reviewing drawings, conducting material and labour cost analysis, preparing estimates, and following up with clients to ensure contracts are allocated efficiently. You will ideally have a strong commercial background and a track record of working on high value projects. If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience, please get in touch.
The role:
- Cost estimation: Review project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and overheads.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and ensure all estimates are accurate and aligned with project requirements.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit detailed and competitive bids for prospective projects, ensuring all documentation and estimates meet client expectations.
- Contract Documentation: Assist in the preparation of contract documents, bills of quantities, drawings, pricing schedules, and change orders.
What we need from you:
- Substantial commercial-based estimating experience, preferably within roofing or cladding.
- This position would suit someone who has worked within commercial estimating, preferably within a smaller business as you will need to have had exposure to all aspects of estimating and project work.
- Candidates with a background within QS or contract management would also be suited.
- Good working knowledge/experience using estimating software and MS Office Suite (Excel).
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, highly numerate.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and assess project risks and opportunities.
- Ability to liaise with clients and manage own project workload organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and liaise with clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
Additional information:
- Working hours: 7am-4pm or 8am - 5pm (39 hours per week)
- Company car
- This role is office-based 5 days per week - you will need to reside within 40 minutes commuting distance of Northampton.
